John Dinsdale MRCVS - Director & Veterinary Surgeon

I am the Senior Veterinary Surgeon and Co-Director with my wife, Janet, of Andale Veterinary Centre. I qualified from Glasgow University in 1984 and have been in the practice since July of that year.

I have been committed to the future of the profession, our practice and staff including Nurse Training and a New Graduate Support Scheme in conjunction with the British Veterinary Association.

My main veterinary interests are surgery and medicine, however, I enjoy all aspects of my job especially the interaction with pets and clients. I have 4 children and enjoy all sports particularly running, mountain biking and skiing. Our pets include 2 dogs (Stan & Grace) and 2 cats (Tilly & Polly).

Gemma Pinnington MRCVS - Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified from Liverpool University in 2010. After a year of working in a Manchester small animal practice, I took the Veterinary Surgeons position at Andale where as a student I completed most of my training.  I also worked at Andale for my School Work Experience.

I have lived in Widnes all my life it is great to meet so many familiar faces.  I  have a lovely cat called Tigger and a Rough Collie called Bobby

I have recently become engaged to my long term partner and we are looking to get married in the next few years.

I have a particular interest in Veterinary Medicine and want to gain more experience in orthopaedic surgery

Outside of work I enjoy walking my dog, swimming, traveling and going to the gym.

Michelle Lawrence MRCVS - Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified from Glasgow University in 1992 and worked in Scotland for a short period. I then went to Ireland where I managed my own practice. In 2000, I returned home to the North West and joined Andale.

In 2002, I married my long term partner Dave. We had a 'different' wedding; we were married by Elvis in The Little White Chapel, Las Vegas!

I have a German Shepherd Dog, 2 puppies and 12 cats, all of which I have rescued. No doubt I will acquire more!

I have a particular interest in acupuncture for animals - see my section on acupuncture to find out more and how it can benefit your pet.

Maria Barrett MRCVS - Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified from Liverpool Veterinary School in July 08 and it has been a real privilege to join the Veterinary Team at Andale.

I am a local girl and live with my family in Rainhill.  I went to school in Liverpool (West Derby) and have been very lucky to secure a position in this prestigious practice.

Outside of work I am a very dedicated and successful runner and have been selected for many major competitions.  I compete with a team called Liverpool Harriers.

At home I enjoy spending time with my 3 dogs.

Gillian Taylor MRCVS - Veterinary Surgeon

I graduated from Glasgow University Vet School in July 2005. Knowing that I had always wanted to be in a small animal practice, I took the job at Andale in December of that year.

I enjoy both consulting and surgery and I see myself staying in general practice long term.

Having recently attended a course on ultrasound scanning, I have really enjoyed putting my new skills into practice - looking at pets who are pregnant, and those who need further investigation into abdominal problems.

I live with my husband, Owen, who is a farm animal vet in the area. Most of my spare time is spent with our labrador, Abby.

Janet Dinsdale - Practice Manager & Director

As Co-Director of Andale with my husband, John, it was a real pleasure to join the team in May 2006 as Practice Manager after working 27 years in the Royal Bank of Scotland Group.

Taking all the management duties and the running of the practice away from John has freed him up to do the things he loves the most; caring for, and interacting with the pets and clients visiting our practice.

I am proud of the dedication, professionalism, and loyalty of my staff, who have been with the practice for many years and pride themselves on the rapport they build with our clients and their pets.

Lisa Beesley - Senior Veterinary Nurse

I qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 1994 and worked in a mixed large and small animal practice for 9 years before moving to a small animal practice for a further 8 years.

In 2006 I took the position of Head Veterinary Nurse at Andale and have really enjoyed the challenges and responsibilities this role brings. As a qualified NVQ Assessor and clincal coach.  I have especially liked supporting our trainee Veterinary Nurses and passing on the knowledge I have gained over the years.

My particular interests are in Cat Behaviour and Pet Obesity and really like the results we achieve with overweight pets at our Nurse Clinics.

I have 4 cats, Onion Fletch, Olive and Wilson, and in my spare time enjoy cooking and watching ruby league with my husband, Stu.

  Helen Murray -Veterinary Nurse

I am a qualified Veterinary Nurse and have worked with John at Andale since 1990 after leaving school. I qualified in January 1995.

I now work part time as I have 3 children and a husband to look after. I am passionate about my job and I enjoy all aspects of Veterinary Nursing and I recently completed a course on surgical nursing at Liverpool University.

It has been a privilege to see Andale grow over the years from a small shop with one vet into our current purpose built premises with 5 Vets.

In the evening I enjoy walking my dogs, Harry and Sally, and listening to music.

Kristy Seddon - Trainee Veterinary Nurse

I have worked at Andale since September 2007 as a casual worker on Reception.  I am now training to become a Veterinary Nurse.

I love working at Andale and caring for the animals who visit us.  It has been my dream since I was very young to become a Veterinary Nurse.

In my spare time I love doing Morris Dancing and since I was 3 I have been been part of a Morris Dancing Group in Widnes.

  Nicola Jackson -Veterinary Nurse

I have worked at Andale since September 1997 and qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2000.

I work part time now, to spend time at home with my 2 young sons.

  Caroline Rustage - Veterinary Nurse

I started training as a Veterinary Nurse after leaving school. I qualified in 1997 and joined Andale shortly after.

I enjoy all areas of Veterinary Nursing and I am also a qualified NVQ Assessor involved in supporting our trainee Veterinary Nurses. I was Head Nurse from September 1997 until I went onto maternity leave at the end of 2005. I now work part time so that I can spend some time with my daughter and son.

As well as doing the general nursing duties, I am in charge of the daily drug and stock ordering and I take pride in keeping the Pharmacy at Andale well stocked with the latest drugs available for the care of our pets.

Becky Andrews - Trainee Veterinary Nurse

I have just started work at Andale and have been trying to secure a position in a Veterinary Centre for 4 years.  I am going to start to train to become a Veterinary Nurse which has been my long term ambition.

I have a lovely horse called Maggie who takes up all of my spare time.  I love competing with her in local shows

I live in Widnes with my boyfriend. But I love spending time with my family, walking their dog, Tilly.

Jess Herley - Trainee Veterinary Nurse

I left school in June 2007 and joined the Andale team. then qualified as a  'Animal Nursing Assistant', which enabled me to start  training as a Veterinary Nursing in September 2009.

In my spare time I enjoy looking after my horses, Ellie Maverick and Sid. I also love to walk my 2 dogs, Rosie and Grace.

  Natalie Gillan - Receptionist

I am one of five receptionists here at Andale. I started work here in 2000. During this period, I have gone to college to gain a qualification in 'Pre-Veterinary Nursing'.

I am a very enthusiastic person and I take pride in my work, especially enjoying the interaction I have with clients and their pets.

I have several pets of my own, three of which were kittens abandoned here that I took home to hand rear.

I work part time now to spend time at home with my little boy.

  Caron Howard - Receptionist

I live with my daughter and love spending time with my other daughters and their partners.

I love to get out and about with my King Charles Spaniel, Oscar, and - when not spending time with my family - I enjoy getting out in the fresh air, on my mountain bike and walking.

  Sandra Brindle - Receptionist

I was very lucky to join the dedicated Andale Team as a part-time receptionist in June 2006, after working with horses for many years.

I have been entrusting Andale with my own pets' needs since John opened the surgery, so I feel that I can view the needs of our clients and pets from both sides of the counter.

I have been showing boxers for 25 years, one of whom qualified for Crufts. I also enjoy stewarding at Boxer and all breed shows and I am on the Boxer judging list.

Still currently owned by multiple animals including horses dogs cats ducks chickens and a goose

  Shari Coles - Receptionist

I have been a receptionist at Andale since January 1994. I love my job and pride myself in being a friendly, approachable face for our clients.

Having worked here for 13 years, I know most clients by name and have built up long-standing relationships with them.

I now work part time as I have 2 little boys, Hayden and Ethan, whom I love spending time with, as well as with my partner, Steve.

With my 2 boys, dog called Gwen Ten and 4 rescue cats Purdy, Errol, Austin & Dexter all my spare time is taken up
